Hanatarou is a small, meek looking boy from the fourth division - the medical section. He is originally kidnapped by Ichigo and Ganji to use as a hostage but he ends up helping them more by repairing them after they get destroyed in fights. Although he appears weak, he's actually the 7th seat in his division and a very good healer, and he also conviently already knows Rukia and is more than willing to help in her rescue.
